Despite the complex circuitry housed within the unit, the HDI has an elegant set of controls that allows the musician or engineer to dial up a record-ready sound with a minimal amount of tweaking required. The Level control drives the inputs of the HDI with instant visual feedback from the responsive front panel meter, while the Color knob provides seamless blending between an ultra-clean tone and amp-style distortion and saturation, so you can add just the right amount of character and grit to your instrument. A smooth Opto compressor can be engaged to control the peaks of the input signal, and a High-Pass Filter clears up any excessive low frequencies added by the Color control. Lastly, a Presence control accentuates the highs and high-mids, providing the ability to cut through the mix with results that are sure to impress.

With its gunmetal anodized 1/4" thick milled front panel and distinctive styling reminiscent of classic outboard studio equipment, the HDI is sure to turn heads in any recording space. A custom output meter provides a level check at a glance, with oversized chrome knobs for precise adjustments and easy tweaking on-the-fly. The HDI is a stunning standalone unit, but it also comes complete with mounting hardware to install in standard 19" equipment racks. One or two HDI's can be installed side-by-side in a 2RU rack space, and like all Radial products, they are built with rugged components and designed to easily withstand the rigors of concert touring.

The perfect companion for piezo instruments

The StageBug SB-4 allows you to retain the natural tone of your piezo-equipped instrument when amplified through a PA system. Unlike typical direct boxes, the SB-4 features a very high 5 meg ohm impedance that smooths out troublesome peaks that give piezo transducers a bad name. This higher impedance also broadens the frequency response for a more natural and pleasing sound. The active circuit balances the audio signal to enable long runs up to 100 meters without loss, while delivering spectacular linearity and low distortion throughout the audio range. Output connections include an aux out for a stage amplifier plus a standard XLR output to feed the PA.

Control feedback on stage

To help eliminate feedback on a live stage, the SB-4 is equipped with a high-pass filter and 180° polarity reverse switch. The high pass filter eliminates excessive bottom end which in turn reduces resonance that can cause the instrument to vibrate. The 180° polarity reverse helps reduce acoustic hot spots on stage by changing the phase relationship between the PA system and room acoustics which can combine at certain frequencies to create peaks.

Ultra-compact DI

The design begins with standard ¼ instrument input with a thru-put to feed your tuner or your on-stage amp. The ultra-quiet active circuit at once converts the signal from high to low impedance to reduce susceptibility to noise. The signal is then buffered and balanced for long cable runs to the PA system. 48 volt phantom provides the power, so the SB-1 does not require batteries or external supply to make it work. You simply plug in and you are ready to go!

The PZ-DI™ is an active direct box that has been designed for acoustic and orchestral instruments, with a variable load that allows you to set the optimal input impedance for your pickups for more natural-sounding results.

Piezo problem solver

The PZ-DI has a variable load selector switch that allows you to set the input impedance of the direct box, so you can optimize the performance with your instrument's pickups. The 1 meg ohm position delivers the classic impedance found on most active DI boxes, while the 220k ohm setting warms up the tone of magnetic pickups to provide the feel and tone as if your instrument were connected directly to an amplifier. The third setting is an ultra-high 10 meg ohm impedance that is specifically designed for piezo transducers, helping compensate for the harsh or squawky tone that can occur when a piezo is connected to a lower impedance input.

Variable filter to suit any instrument

To remove unwanted resonance on stage and prevent feedback, the PZ-DI is equipped with a fully-variable low-cut filter that gently rolls off low frequencies. The roll-off point of this filter can be raised or lowered to match the frequency response of your instrument, with a lower point for acoustic bass and a higher setting for violin or banjo. A switchable high-cut filter is also included, which is useful on instruments such as acoustic guitars that incorporate a battery-powered preamp, softening any harshness or high frequency edge for a smoother tone.

Hybrid circuit for low noise

The JPC is a stereo direct box that is easy to use with practically any consumer electronic device. It utilizes active buffers and transformer isolation to create a hybrid circuit that blocks ground loops and reduces system noise, along with AC blocking capacitors to prevent any audio system noise from bleeding back into the computer. The choice of ¼", RCA and 3.5mm input connectors make it easy to interface with all types of unbalanced audio sources such as computers, smartphones, and tablets, and the outputs are XLR balanced mic level to feed snake systems and PAs. The J33 provides the ability to connect turntables to pro audio equipment such as a recording interfaces and mixers, allowing you to easily integrate your vinyl collection with studio gear for playback or recording. Balanced XLR mic-level outputs are available for connection to a mic preamplifier for archiving or sampling in the studio, and -10dB consumer line-level outputs are also provided to connect to home stereo equipment. Deliver your amp's tone through the PA

The JDX 48 makes it easy to get a consistent and natural amplifier tone through the PA system night after night, by taking a feed directly from your amplifier and employing Radial's popular JDX speaker emulation that produces an effect similar to placing a dynamic microphone in front of a 4x12 half stack cabinet. This gives you a more manageable sound onstage for gigs where feedback is an issue, or if mic'ing your amp isn't an option. The JDX 48 can be powered using 48V phantom from the mixing console, for a cleaner setup on stage that eliminates the need to carry a power supply to the gig. However, for times when phantom power may not be available, the JDX 48 also ships with a separate DC power supply - giving you a redundant powering option so you never have to perform without your JDX.

The 4-Play is a DI box specifically designed for multi-instrumentalists, providing the ability to quickly and silently change instruments on stage. With four balanced outputs, each instrument has its own channel in the PA and monitors.

Four DI boxes in one

Many performing multi-instrumentalists will have each of their instruments feed a separate channel in the PA system, allowing for individual level, EQ, and effects settings. Typically this would require multiple DI boxes and instrument cables, creating a mess on stage that can be difficult to manage. With the 4-Play, you only need to connect one cable to the input of the pedal, and it provides you with four DI outputs to feed the PA system.
