The 5100 employs five miniature pressure transducers that exhibit low sensitivity to wind and mechanical noise, low distortion, consistent low frequency response and wide dynamic range.

 

Optimum channel separation and directionality are achieved through a combination of DPA's proprietary DiPMic? (Directional Pressure Microphone) technology, which mounts interference tubes on the L/C/R capsules, and the use of acoustic baffles that further preserve the accuracy of levels between the discrete analogue output channels.

 

The 5.1 output of the 5100 runs through a multi-pin Lemo connector carrying all six channels electronically balanced, while an enclosed five-meter six-pair Mogami cable breaks out to six Neutrik XLR-M connectors.

 

The centre channel can be overridden by an external boom or lavalier microphone attached via a built-in XLR-F connector - particularly useful for interviews and documentaries.

The DPA 5006A is a complete DPA 4006A Surround Kit with five carefully factory-matched omni microphones.

 

Even though the standard tolerances on DPA Reference Standards are extremely low, the surround match is even closer.

 

The specially selected DPA 4006A microphones are matched within ±0.5 dB on both frequency response and sensitivity from mean of set. The maximum phase response difference is 5°.

 

The natural sound, high sensitivity, low noise-floor and extremely linear frequency response from 10 Hz to 20 kHz (±2 dB) of the microphones make the DPA 4006As the perfect choice for all AB Stereo, Decca Tree or surround main array recordings.

The S5 Surround Mount is a highly versatile and stylish microphone mount.

 

The Surround Mount provides extreme flexibility due to its unique building block design. It allows for numerous configurations while providing visual elegance.

 

In the concert hall, the mount is hardly visible and completely non-light reflective.

 

The mount is equally suitable for fixed installations and mobile setups and can be neatly packed away into the supplied briefcase for easy transportation.

 

Compact and extremely lightweight, the Surround Mount is very strong and stable.

 

Although the array is optimized for use with DPA microphones, it accommodates all microphone holders, and a broad variety of surround microphone arrays can be set up very neatly.

 

Arrays like OCT2, Hamasaki Square, Fukada Tree, and the DPA speciality WCSA (Wide Cardioid Surround Array) are possible with the S5.
